Vanessa
started training clients over 6 years ago when she decided that
there was nothing better then helping someone else reach their
fitness goals. Her love of fitness came at an early age when she
enjoyed participating in many sports including swimming, track,
water polo and cross-country running. In college she started off
as a business major but found an overwhelming desire to learn more
about how the human body worked, so she quickly changed her major
to Kinesiology (fitness, health, and nutrition). This is also where
she met her partner Alexis Cedillo.
Vanessa missed the challenge
of playing sports and always wanted to see what would happen if
she pushed her self to the limit, so she entered a few NPC figure
shows. The training and strict nutrition involved in preparing
for these shows really taught her a lot about what it takes to
change the body. There are infinite ways to improve the body and
the mind, and her philosophy is to make those ways reality.
After living in San Diego for the
past 26 years (her whole life) she has decided to reside in Redondo
to pursue more opportunities in Personal Training and Entertainment.
In the future she plans to make a successful and fulfilling business
training others and opening a studio of her own. She plans on also
competing in more shows in the future and planing more photo shoots.
Vanessa is a highly motivated and knowledgeable trainer and guarantees
your success. |

Alexis
approaches fitness in a very functional way. She likes to train
the body so that every muscle and joint that is capable of movement
is utilized on every possible directional plane to maximize
your body’s
potential. Moving away from traditional machines and emphasizing
the use of one’s own body weight, Alexis integrates her background
in gymnastics, dance, martial arts, and sports, and applies both
Western and Eastern traditions towards her knowledge in fitness,
nutrition, and wellness.
Alexis became aware of her love for
fitness when she was 15. She lied about her age to buy a gym membership
and would train most days after school, often inviting friends
to come workout with her. This passion was given opportunity to
grow her senior year in high school where she enrolled in her first
Sports Medicine course. From there she would go on to San Diego
State University to receive her BS in Kinesiology, along side her
training and business partner Vanessa Van Overmeer.
Currently a trainer in the South Bay,
she works with a diverse group of clients: from men and women
seeking weight loss, high school and semi-pro athletes,
weekend warriors, retirees, post physical therapy patients, and
people looking for a positive change in their lives. |
